HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of January 22,1996 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order by Chairman Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. The Commissioners received a copy of the 1996 Municipal Services Agreement between the Grant County Economic Development Council and Grant County. Chairman Snead was delegated to serve on the canvassing board for the special election to be held on February 6,1996. Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Authorization of Canvassing Board representatives on the Auditor's Staff to include Faith P. Anderson, Lora Fronsman, Sue Ramaker and Margaret Dawson. The Commissioners approved the salary for several half time positions in the Juvenile Probation Department. The Commissioners were notified that Sheila Poe of the Juvenile Probation Department was resigning effective January 31,1996. The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Brenda Larsen of the Juvenile Probation Department at 80 percent of salary for the Legal Secretary position effective January 22,1996. The Commissioners received a request from the Commissioners of Grant County Fire Protection District No. 7 to annex certain areas to the District. The Commissioners were notified by the Sheriff's Department that Wade Hilliard has been selected from the Deputy Lateral list to begin March 1,1996. The Commissioners approved the request for the purchase of FAX machines in the amount of $1,800 from Law and Justice Funds for District Court. The Commissioners approved the request for the purchase of mobile radios by the Sheriff's Department in the amount of $11,900.28 from Law and Justice Funds. The Commissioners approved the request for the purchase of five portable radios in the amount of $4,192.50 by the Sheriff's Department from Law and Justice Funds. The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Benito Flores and Fermin C. Fernandez. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling. The Commissioners appointed Terri Hardt to a position on the Grant County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board. The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Ben Starkweather. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling. The Commissioners signed the 1996 Dispatch Services Contracts between the Grant County Sheriff's Office and Grant County Fire District #6, Fire District #10, Quincy Fire Department, Coulee City Police Department, Fire District #4, and Samaritan Hospital. The Commissioners signed the 1996 Law Enforcement Contract between the Grant county Sheriff's Office and the Town of Marlin. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until January 23,1996. January 23,1996 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding WSDOE Grant Agreement, HHW Proposals, Bob Wilson on Insurance, and Bid Authorization on Bridge #241, 'M' NE, 10/12 Dump Trucks, Single Axle Chassis, Tandem Axle Chassis, Body Sanders, and Pneumatic Roller. The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on one Pneumatic Roller, bid opening to be February 6,1996 at 11:40 a.m., two sanders, bid opening to be February 6,1996 at 11:30 a.m., one heavy truck chassis with bid opening to be February 6,1996 at 11:30 a.m., one dump truck chassis, with bid opening to be February 6,1996 at 11:10 a.m., six dump trucks with dump bodies, with bid opening to be February 6,1996 at 11:00 a.m., and bid opening on Bridge #241, M -NE Rd. with bid opening to be February 13,1996 at 10:15 a.m. The Commissioners approved the request for a Hewlett-Packard Laser jet printer in the amount of $1,182 from Law and Justice Funds for the Coroner's Office. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 1/22/96 in the total amount of $381,528.75. The Commissioners approved the request to purchase a vehicle and equipment for the Animal Control Officer in the amount of $19,930.08 from the Sheriff's budget.
