RESOLUTION NO. 96-25—CC
RESOLUTION DENYING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE COMPRE-
HENSIVE PLAN OF GRANT COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by
the Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on January 3, 1996 on the
matter of changing the zoning from AGRICULTURE to SUBURBAN -2 in a portion of Section 12,
Township 19 North, Range 27 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Planning Commission made a recommendation to
approve the zone change.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners held a public meeting
on February 5, 1996 and decided to conduct a public hearing on the rezone request.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on
February 27, 1996.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners found sufficient evidence to not
uphold the recommendations of the Grant County Planning Commission.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent did not
present sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of the subject property warranted a
rezone of the property.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposed rezone is
not in close proximity to municipal services.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposed rezone
would allow compact suburban densities that would negatively impact adjoining agricultural uses.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposed zoning
is incompatible with the surrounding land classifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners for
Grant County, Washington deny by this Resolution, a zone change for the following described property:
The North Half of the Southeast quarter and the North Half of the Southeast quarter of
the Southeast quarter of Section 12, Township 19 North, Range 27 East, W.M., Grant
County, Washington.
