ZONE CHANGE FROM AGRICULTURE
TO SUBURBAN -AGRICULTURE IN A RESOLUTION DENYING AN AMMENDMENT
PORTION OF SECTION 10, TOWNSHIP TO THE GRANT COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE
19 N., RANGE 27 EAST, W.M., GRANT PLAN AND OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
COUNTY, WASHINGTON

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the
Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on May 5, 1996 on the matter of
recommending approval/denial of a zone change from Agriculture to Suburban -Agriculture on 72 acres of
property located in a portion of Section 10, Township 19 North, Range 27 East, W.M., Grant County and ;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have held a public meeting
on May 21, 1996 to consider the matter of upholding the recommendation to deny the zone change.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that this zone change is consistent
with the Grant County Resource Lands and Critical Areas Development Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners found that the zone change is not consistent
with the Comprehensive plan of Grant County.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal lies outside the
proposed interim growth boundary for the City of Moses Lake.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not
demonstrated that changed circumstances in the vicinity of the'proposed rezone have changed.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not shown
that a need exists in the area for smaller acreage's.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not
demonstrated that this proposal will provide long term benefits to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners for Grant
County, Washington deny by this Resolution, a zone change for the following described property:
A portion of the Northeast quarter of Section 9, Township 19 North, Range 27 East, W.M., and a
portion of the Northwest quarter of Section 10, Township 19 North, Range 27 East, W.M., Grant
County, Washington (Tax numbers 7142, 7141, and 9371).
