Week of June 10,1996
The County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman
Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as
written.
The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Michael Barnett of the Sheriff's
Office at $2,066.40 effective June 17,1996.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Carol Thompson of the
Sheriff's Office to $1,904 per month effective June 1,1996.
The Commissioners received the resignation of Klaire D. Harry and Louis
Bunkelman of the Grant County Alcohol and Other Addiction Board.
The Commissioners approved the request by the South Banks Lake Mosquito
Control District #3 for the purchase of a County surplus vehicle.
The Commissioners received a signed copy of 1996 Dispatch Agreement with Fire
District # 11.
The Commissioners approved the request by Vietnam Veterans of America for the
amount of $2,000 to help purchase a van for transport of veterans to the hospital in
Spokane.
The Commissioners signed approval of the Liquor License to Ogden Entertainment
Services for class A & C licenses.
Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation or Work
Interruption of Bill D. Owensby of the Assessors Office effective June 14,1996.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Jennifer Stussy of the
Assessors Office to $1,949 per month effective June 1,1996.
The Commissioners received a copy of the Cities of Ephrata, Moses Lake, Royal
City and Wardens petition for review before the State of Washington Growth
Management Hearings Board for Eastern Washington.
The Commissioners approved out of State travel for Shannon Hetletvedt of Grant
County Mental Health to attend the Play Therapy Institute at Forest Grove, Oregon.
The Commissioners approved the purchase of extra DASD for the AS/400 in the
approximate amount of $3,000.
A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner
Fancher that Resolution Number 96 -70 -CC in the matter of initiating County Road Project
designated as CRP No. CRP 96-18 be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Fancher, seconded by Commissioner
Allison that Resolution Number 96 -71 -CC relating to the transfer of funds within the 1996
budget of the Law and Justice Fund #121, Department #163 in the amount of $57,838
be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Marilyn Sage of the
Assessors Office to $2045 per month effective June 1,1996.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Department Claims Fund Voucher
Approval #5-1 through #5-184 in the total amount of $1,652,922.58.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those
vouchers filed included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 6/10/96 in the total amount
of $427,538.09.
The Commissioners notified the Auditor of the salary increases for the 1996
year.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was
adjourned until June 17,1996.
