HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BOCCCOMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of June 17,1996 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Tim Snead. Commissioner Allison was in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Fancher was out due to illness. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. The Commissioners signed the Request for Transfer in the Building and Fire Marshal Budget in the amount of $7,000. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Carole Highland of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to a Deputy III effective June 1,1996. The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Ken Kernan to attend polygraph training in Bend Oregon. The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Detective Ron Thompson for an extradition in Toledo, Ohio. The Commissioners approved the request by Grant County District Court for funding of security windows and a security door for the front counter of the Ephrata office at the estimated cost of $2500.00. The Commissioners signed the License to Remove Material with Chris' Excavation, in the amount of 500 cubic yards of Caliche for the amount of $250.00. The Commissioners approved the request by the Wilson Creek School for the purchase of surplus County cars. The Commissioners received notice of filing with the Eastern Washington Growth Management Hearings Board by the Cities of Ephrata, Moses Lake, Royal City, and Warden. The Commissioners set the following from the Planning Department for Public Meetings or Public Hearings: Mr. & Mrs. C. Matheson zone change request set for Public Meeting July 1,1996 at 2:00 p.m. Charles Martin Preliminary Plat application set for Public Meeting July 1,1996 at 3:00 p.m. Donald Kriete & Beverly Hasper zone change request set for Public Hearing July 9,1996 at 2:00 p.m. Martin Pfeiffer Preliminary Plat application set for Public Hearing July 8,1996 at 2:00 p.m. Matthew and Kari Hermanson zone change request set for Public Meeting, July 8,1996 at 3:30 p.m. The Commissioners held a Public Hearing and a motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 96 -72 - CC authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Emergency Services Fund #102, Department #144 in the amount of $5,956 be passed. The motion carried. The Commissioners appointed Gordon Steinmetz to a position on the Grant County Tourism Commission. The Commissioners appointed Ron Sawyer to a further term on the Grant County Tourism Commission. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 96 -73 -CC relating to the transfer of funds within the 1996 budget of the Law and Justice Fund #121, Department #163 in the amount of $1,863 be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 96 -74 -CC setting a Public Hearing for July 9,1996 at 1:30 p.m. relating to the facts requiring an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Current Expense Fund #001, Jail Department #115 and Coroner Department #120 in the amount of $198,934 be passed. The motion carried. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 6/17/96 in the total amount of $181,616.25. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was adjourned since the Commissioners needed to leave for Washington State Association of Counties Meetings in Kelso, Washington for the remainder of the week.
