Week of August 23,1999
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at
1:00 p.m. by Chairman Tim Snead. All of the Commissioners were in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners spent the
morning working with the City of Moses Lake regarding the city's
UGA.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the
preceding session as written.
t4D'79,The Commissioners approved the request by the Department of
Community Development for Ron Sell and Damien Hooper to attend
the users conference for Arc View/Arc Info. Software in Bend, Oregon.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Superior Court
to improve their microphone systems and replace two chairs in the
courtroom from Law and Justice Funds.
c�e7 7 7 The Commissioners approved the starting salary of Eli
Rodriguez of the Cooperative ;Extension Department at $1,658.40 per
month effective August 23,1999.
14�(-) 74 The Commissioners were notified of the resignation of Shay
Garrison of the County Clerks Office effective September 1,1999.
1407q`/ The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Diane Leedy
of the County Clerks Office to $1900 per month effective September
1,1999.
1/,()�cc) Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation
or Work Interruption of Michael D. McAttee of the Juvenile
Department effective August 31,1999.
( The Commissioners approved the Request for Transfer of Fund
in the Prosecutor's Office in the amount of $500.00.
1 �. of off, As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for
payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office
8/23/99 in the total amount of $231,296.60.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the
session was continued until August 24,1999.
August 24,1999
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Snead and
Commissioner Moore in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works director
regarding Reimbursable Work -Desert Aire Airport District,
UGA/Revenue Sharing, 10:30 -Road Vacation Hearing(Grace Lane).
jq6S�06 The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the petition
to vacate and abandon that portion of Grace Road, as per the plat of
Grace Acres Estates Plat, recorded in Book 14 of Plats, Pages 45 and 46,
records of Grant County, Washington. Based on the recommendation
of the Public Works Director a motion was made by Commissioner
Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead to deny the vacation. The
motion carried.
t oVb �- The Commissioners signed the Request to the County Road
Department for Reimbursable Work by the Town of Wilson Creek,
l q�)qo- The Commissioners approved the request by the Juvenile
Probation Department for leave without pay status for Winona
Campbell.
j gogo ,The Commissioners approved the request by the Juvenile
Probation Department for the Transfer of funds in the amount of
$21,666.6$ from the Juvenile Department to the Prosecuting Attorney's
Department.
140- n1 A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by
Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 99 -133 -CC regarding the
approval to hire an administrative assistant for the Ground Water
Management Area. The motion carried.
/q0 � u q The Commissioner signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for
the month of August in the amount of $297,252.15.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the
session was adjourned until August 30,1999.

RESOLUTION NUMBER 99- 133 -CC
Columbia Basin Ground Water Management
Area Administrative Assistant Position
WHEREAS, the Ground Water Management Area (GWMA)
project manager has requested approval by the Boards of
County Commissioners of Adams, Franklin and Grant
Counties to replace two part-time positions with one full-time
position; and
WHEREAS, the Ground Water Management Area (GWMA)
interview committee has recommended candidate Carol Miller
for the GWMA administrative assistant position; and.
WHEREAS, the Board of Grant County Commissioners
constitutes the legislative authority of Grant County and deems
this to be in the best interest of Grant County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the
Board of Grant County Commissioners hereby approve hiring
Carol Miller, 819 South Meadowlark Lake,
Othello,Washington 99344 in the Columbia Basin GWMA
administrative assistant position, effective September 1,1999 at
an hourly rate of $12.00 per hour.
