HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 17-041-CC i �� I�� ; � � BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS i Grant County, Washington � RESOLUTION REGARDWG GRANT RESOLUTION No. 17-��t-CC i COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS DIRECTOR i CONTRACTUAL AUTHORITY _ I —— ---- -- ---- ----- ---- - --- — --- — - � I WMEREAS: The Grant County operates a Counfiy Fair pursuant to the authority of the I laws of the State of Washington; and WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners appoints a county Fair Director to administer and operate the County Fair and the Fairgrounds on behalf of the County; and i I WHEREAS: It is the intent of the Board of County Commissioners that the Board may, ; on a case by case basis, delegate to the Fair Director negotiation and approval aufihority � for contracts with a value of$10,000 or less; and � WHEREAS: It is in the best interests of the County and the general public to have a clear � policy setting for the scope of authority delegated by the Board of County Commissioners i to the Fair Director to contractually obligate the County. � NOW, i'HEREFC9RE, BE IT RESOLi/ED: That the Board of County Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the County, hereby set the policy for the authority of the County Fair Director to enter into contractual obligations for matters related to the operations of the Grant County Fairgrounds as follows: j The Grant County Fair Director is authorized to negotiate for and on behalf of the � County and enter into contractual obligations for expenditures, purchases, or other j contractual obligations for property, goods, or services with a value of less than $10,000. ' Any contractual obligation for any expenditures, purchases, or contractual � I, obligations for property, goods, or services with a value of $10,000 or more shall be ; negotiated by and approved by the Grant County Board of County Commissioners; ! provided, however, that the Grant County Board of County Commissioners may on a case by case basis delegate such authority to the fair director, or other designee. The Board � of County Commissioners may limit the scope and authority of such delegation and may �� retain the right of final approval of any agreement.
