1�l'NEREA�, the Gr�nt Caunty Gommissioners have rr�e� and
cansider�d the �urrent Expense k�udget for the caiend�r year of �998;
and
�NHEREAS, the Gount�r Comm�ssioners, in the caurse of
cansider"rng the budget for 1998 have reviewed ati soc�e�ces of revenue
and examined att anticipa�ed exp�nses and obtigatit�n�; and
'VI�WEREA�, the Coun�y Commissioners have c�etermin�d ihai due
to funding needed to pay for the ever increasing cast� related to the
criminal �ustice system, Growrth l�anagement, Referendum 47
implementation and ather cosis mandated by the State of Washingtc�n,
°they �nd that there is a substaniial need �o expand the ��gular propes°ty
tax limit fact4r abo�re the rate vf inflation,
NtJW, THEREFCDRE, 8T IS HEREBY RESOLVED, thatthe limi#fact�r
fs�r the reguiar levy for the catendar year °t998 shai! be �a3.8 percent in
addition to the increase re�u(ting from t�e adc��tion of new construction
and irri�rovemen#s i:t� propert�/ �nd any increases in the value of s�ate-
assessed property, or the amou�t of �5,842,984.
