WASHINGTON 98823 1509) 754-2011 BOARD OF COUNTY COn�Il9�IISSIONERS GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN 'TI3E MATTER OF CHANGING THE ZONII�TG FROM AGRICULTURE TO GC (GENREAL COMMERCIAL) IN A PORTION OF SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 17 N. , RANGE 26 E. , W.M., GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON Resolution # 97-189-CC RESOLUTION DENYING A ZONE CHANGE FROM AGRICULTURE TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DUANE LANG - WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the Grant Counry Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on July 2, 1997 on the matter of changing the zoning from "AGR (Agriculture)" to "GC (General Commercial)" in a portion of Section 4, Township 17 No�th, Range 26 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant Counry have been advised by the Grant County Planning Department that the Grant County Planning Commission recommended denial on said matter, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, having said recommendation, have given notice this matter would be coaisidered at a public hearing on August 11, 1997, and; . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Counry Commissioners of Grant County, Washington do by this resolution deny the zone change request from Agriculture to General Commercial on the following described property. A portion of the East 1/a of the Northeast 1/4 of Government Lot 1, located in Section 4, Township 17 North, Range 26 E.W.M., Grant County, VJashington (Parcel #16- 0182-001). Findings and Facts: 1. The property on which the zone change is proposed for is nat within the Columbia Basin Project and does not receive a water allotmen�. 2. The proposal is not consistent with the Grant Counry Comgrehensive Plan and surrounding uses. 3. The proposal does fall within a Critical Area as defined by the Grant County Resource Lands and Critical Areas Development Ordinance. 4. The proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that changed circurnstances in the area of the subject property warrant a rezone of the property. 5. The proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that there is sufficient need in the area for the types of uses allowed and size of lots.
