A RESOLUTION ADOPTING GRANT
COUNTY'S PLAN FOR CONTINUED RESQLUTION IdO. 97-14�-GC
GOMPLIANCE WITH THE GROWTH
MANAGEMENT ACT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTt�N, as follows:
WHEREAS, Grant County (�he "Coun�ty"j is mandated to plan
under the Growth Managemeni Act (GMA); and
WHEREAS, on or about Septembes� 1,1991, the County and all
cities within Grant County formec� the Grant County Planned Growth
Committee ("GCPGC:), thraugh which all members agreed to work to
adopt county-wide planning policies �"GWPPs") as required by the
GV�/M; and
1NHEREAS, the County has }/et ta adopt its GMA comprehensive
plan and final development regulations.
NOW, THEREF�RE, BE IT RES4LVED, as follows:
The Board of County Commissioners hereby adopts a pian for
achieving GMA compliance. The Couniy's plan involves a number of
interrelated steps. Those steps are summarized as follows:
a. The County will hire and have in place on or about
December 15,1997, a second planner dedicated 100°/O to
GMA planning; and
b. The County will hire and have in place on or about
December 15,1997 an administrative support position for the
GMA Planning Department; and
c. ihe County wtll utilize contract support from outside private
agencies as necessary to complete the Draft t�MA
Comprehensive Plan.
d. Absent unforeseen circumstances, and recognizing
concurrent planning by the Cities and Towns, the County will
prepare within two years from the date of the
aforernentioned Staff horings; i�s GMA Ptan, and supporting
SEPA documents, and will iake all other necessary steps
consistent vvith the public participation process and
availability of resources, to counplete its final GMA plan.
