RESOLUTION DENYING AN
AMENDMENT TO TI� COMPRE-
HENSIVE PLAN OF GRANT COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised
by the Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on April 2, 1997 on the
maxter of changing the zoning from AGRICULT[JRE to SUBURBAN AGRICLTLTURE in the Northeast
portion of Farm Unit 20, Block 71, Columbia Basin Project located in the Northeast Quarter of Section
12, Township 20 North, Range 25 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Planning Commission made no recommendation to the
Grant County Commissioners due to the lack of a quorum vote.
WF�REAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing
on May 12, 1997 regarding this rezone request.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have foun� that the proponent did not
present sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of the subject property warranted a
rewne of the property.
WHEREAS, the Board of Counry Commissioners ha�e foundl that the proposed rezone
is within the Irrigated Farm Units of the Columbia Basin project and receives a water allotment.
WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not
demonstrated that a need eJcists in the area for smaller acreages.
WHEREAS the Board of Counry Commissioners have found that this proposal is not
consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and sunounding uses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that the Board of Counry Commissioners
for Grant County, Washington deny by this ResoluYion, a zone change for the �ollowing described
property:
The Northeast portion of Farm Unit 20, Block 7fl, Columbia Basin Project located in the Northeast
Quarter of Section 12, Township 20 North, Range 25 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington.
Subject parceI contains approximately 40 acres and is currently known as lParcel Number 20-0166-
000 (Northeast Portion).
