A RESdL�TTiC}N authorizing an appro�riat�on and expenditure of fu�ads
for the following department/fund: Law and Justice Fund ��121
Department ��163 , together with a bucdg�t tiiere-
fflre , pursua.nt to RCW 36 . 4fl . 14fl .
WHEREAS, it �as been brought to the �.ttentian of tt�e Board
of Coun�� Commissioners of Grant �ounty that eme�gency conditions
require �that an appropriation and expenditure of funds be atiih-
orized for the above-mentioned department/fund, togethes• with a
budget �hereiar; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RC�'1 36.40.I4�, Resoluti�n No. 97-60-CC
was du�.y ado�ated on April 22,1997 ,anci publisl�ed in the
Grant Countv Journal o� 5/1&8/97 de clarin g an
emergency and stating the-facts constituting the emergeney aiid�
the estimated atnoun� of funds required ta meet it, together wiih a
notice af public hearing, and said public hearing was held thereon
where inte�°ested persons �vere allowed to appear and be heard;
NOG�, TH�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY C014ii��S-
SiQNERS flF GRANT COUNTY, STATE OF �ASHINGTON, -that an apprcapraatic�n
and expenditure of funds is hereby autizorized for the �ollowzng

in the total �um of $»��i according to ihe attached
budget.
This re5olution zs in th� best interests of good government

Please consider this letter my official request for a budget
exten�7 on oi $1 7, 781 0 00 frqm unexp�nded funds from the 1996 Law and
JustiCe budget.
Tkais extension is necessary due to a billing recci.ved a.n March 1997
from Spillman for 1996 expendi�ures. This was an ovexsa.ght on
Spillman.'s part a.nd I have contacted Spillman represerntatives who
have assured me tha� �%is is the fin�l balance due.
This issue was discussed with Chief Acoount�nt� Bob Masher and he
recommended we r�quest a budget extension. Thank you for your time
and consideration in this mattex�.
