HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 97-055-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF GRANT COUNTY REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE ROYAL SLOPE AREA, WASHINGTON, AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC AUCTION. RESOLUTTON NO. 97- 55 -CC A resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington: finding that it appears that it is for the best interests of (Yrant County and the taxing districts and the people thereof that the Grant County real property as set forth herein should be sold; setting a minirnum bid; requesting that the County Treasurer hold a public auction regarding same; and �roviding for other matters properly relating thereto. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON, as �ollows: WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington (th� "County"), is a C1ass 3 county, duly organized and existing under the Constitution and �he laws of the State of Washington; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (the "Board") oi the County is authorized to conduct proceedings and to sell surplus real prop�rty when it appears that it is for the best interests of the County and the taxing districts and the people thexeof that the Grant County real property should be sold, pursuant to the limitations and restrictions and in the manner provided in chapter 36.34 RCW; and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a number of requests from Grant County residents regarding proposals to dispose of the subject Caunty property in the Royal Slope area, situated in Grant County, Washington, as described below: RES. RE. SALE OF GRANT COUNTY REAL PROPERTY - 1 That portion of Section 33 lying East of State Sign Route 243, and that portion of Section 271ying South of Sign Route 26, all in Township 17 North, Range 23, E.W.M.; and WHEREAS, the subject property was purchased by the County for use in conjur�ction with other property acquired by the County from the Federal government, as a dangerous waste disposal site; and WHEREAS, the subject property is not in current use by the County, and is no longer needed by tl�e County for use as a dangerous waste disposal site; and WHEREAS, it appears that it is fox the best interests of the County and the taxing distxicts an,d the people thereof that the subject County real property should be sold; and WHEREAS, the statutory notice of intention to sell real property requirements regarding the aforementioned pablic hearing were �Followed by the County; and WHEREAS, the Board considered the sale of the subject xeal property during the public hearing held pursuant to law, on April 7, 1997, at 1:30 pm, at the Commissioners' Hearing Room, Grant County Courthouse, Ephrata, Washington; and WHEREAS, during the public hearing, the Board considered the propasal to dispose of the subject real propexty ar�d admitted evidence oifered for and against the propriety and ad�visability of the proposed action to sell the subject county real property; and WHEREAS, no objections to the County's sale of the subject real property were presented to the Board during the aforementioned public hearing. NOW, THERE�'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: Section 1: The Board has found and determined that it appears that it is for the best interests of Grant County and the taxing districts and the people thereof that the County real property as set forth herein should be sold. Section 2: The Board intends to of�er the subject real property for sale for the minimum bid of Thirty-Five Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($35,000.00), upon such terms and conditions as to the Board ma� seem xight in the prernises. Sectxon 3: The County Treasurer is hereby directed to hold and supervise a public auction on the proposition as set forth herein, in accordance with law. RES. RE. SALE OF GRANT COUNTY REAL PROPERTY - 2 Section 4: All actions hereto�ore taken in connection with the proposal to dispose of the subject County real property by the Board, employees and/or agents of the County that are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Resolution are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. Section 5: All resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed ta ihe extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect from and after its date of adoption. Section 6: County staff shall prepare the necessary papers for the sale of the subject County real propert� upon such terms and conditions as the Board seems just and right in the premises, and as set forth herein.
