ORDINANCE APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE
ZONIlVG MAP OF GRANT
COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised
by the Grant County Planning Commission that a public hearing was conducted on March 5, 1997 on
the matter of changing the zoning from AGRICULTURE TO LIGHT INDUSTRIAL in a portion of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 15 North, Range 23 East, W.M., Grant County,
Washington.
WHEREAS, the Grant �ounty Planning Commission made no recommendation to
approve or deny the zone change due to the lack of a quorum vote.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Boasd of County Co�nmissioners held a public hearing
on April 7, 1997 on this rezone request.
WHEREAS, upon consnderation of the applicants written and oral arguments, and upon
consideration of the testimony and adminnstrative record in the applicarion of the zone change, the Grant
County Board of County Commissioners have made the following conclusion and findings of fact:
FINDINGS OF FACT AND CONCLIJSIONS:
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissiomers have concluded that
their is a need for light industrial zoning nn this area.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners have concluded that
the close pro�umity of State Route 245 would facilitate transportation needs for light industrial acrivity.
WHEREAS, the Grant Couaty Board of County Commissioners have found that this
proposal is not within the Irrigated Farm Units of the Columbia Basin Project.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners have found that the
proposal is consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and surrounding uses.
WI�REAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissianers have found that the
proponent has submitted sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area. of the subject
property warranted a rezone of the property.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissio�ers have found that the
proponent has presented sufficient eviden�e that there is sufficient need in the area for smaller acreages.
WHEREAS, the Grant County Board of County Commissioners have found that the
proponent has demonstrated that tIus proposal will provide long term benefits to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners
for Grant County, Washington approve by this Resolution, a zone change from Agriculture to Light
Iadustrial for the following described property.
A portion of the northwest quarter of Section 27, Township IS North, Range 23 Easi,
Willamette Meridian, lying west of the Sta.te Highway 243 more fully described as
follows: Beginning at a point where the westerly right-of-way line of State Highway
243 and the northerly boundary of the northwest quarter of Section 27 intersect, being
the true point of beginning; thence westerly along the northerly boundary of the

the westeriy boundary of the nortl�west quarter to a paznt 60.00 �eet north of the

southerly boundary af the northeast g�aarter and 60.00 feet north therefram to a point of
intersection with the westerly right-of-way line af State �Iighway 243; thence northerly
along the westexly right of-way line of State Highway 243 to the true point beginning
