ADOPTING A NEW SECTION
42 TO THE GRANT COUNTY
SHORT PLAT ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, By order of the Sta�e of Washington Growth Management
Hearings Board for Eastern Washington, Grant County has takera
steps to bring the County into compiiance with the Growth
Management Act; and9
WHEREAS, The Board of Coun#y Commissianers of Grant County
,/Vashington intends fo fufiy comply with the Vi/ashington State Growth
Management Ac#, and,
VI/HEREAS, The Board of Coun�y Commissioners of Grant County
Washington adopted Resolution No. 96-108-CC entitled, A
RESOLUTION ADOPTfNG GRANT COUNTY'S PLAN FOR
CONT(NUFD COMPLIANCE WfTH THE GROV1/�fH IVIANAGEMENT
ACT; and,
V1/HEREAS, Said resolution stipufa�es �hat, the Gounty will adopt
effective and adequate ordinances or amendments to existing
ordinances, to prevenf lot sp�n-offs, land segregation9s, exemptions,
and other variances that contribute to urban sprawl in rural areas of
Grant County; and,
V1/HEREAS, Proper notificat�on has been provided and subsequent
Public Hearings have been hefd by the Grant County Commissioners
in order to provide the opportunity for pubf�c participation in the
process of adopting the new sec�ion to the Grant County Short Plat
Ordinance.
WHEREAS, A Public Hearing was held and action taken on Tuesday,
October 8, 1996 by the Board of County Commissioners regarding

new language to #he Gran� Coun�y Shorf P(at Urdinance in the Board
of Coun�ty Gommissioners Nearings Roam laca�ed at the Grant Coun�y
Caurt House, Eph�ata WA, a� v�hich time ar�y person or persons where
aiiawed to appear and be heard e�ther far or against the proposed
amendment; which was subsequently adQpted, following said Public
Hear�ng and states as foilows:
"Sectian 42: No land segregatian's w�1! be allowed which do not
eomply with requirements of appficable local, sta�e or federai [aws,
including minimum !ot size and set back requirements, except as
spec�fied in the �rant Gounty �onir�g ardin�nce, Section V{B} {8�,
Section V(B} �10}, ar promu(gated exemptions to the Grant Caunty
Shorf Plat or Long Plat Subdivision Ordinances."
