HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-073-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF DENYING A - - - ZONE CHANGE REQUESTFROIVI - - - SUBURBAN ONE TONEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL 1N A PORTION OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 19 N., RANGE 28 E., W.M., GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON � Resolution # 99-73-CC ------ - - - - ------- -- - - - - - � RESOLUTION DENYTNG A ZONE � CHANGE FROM � TO NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL TREN M.JONES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the Grant County Planning Commission that an open record public hearing was conducted on April 7, 1999 on the matter of changing tha zoning from Suburban One (S-1) to Neighborhood Commercial (C-N) on a parcel of property approximately three (3) acres in size. The subject site is known as Lots 5 and 6, Block 2, Astro Acres Phase #1 located in a portion of Section 34, Township 19 North, Range 28 East, W.M., Grant County, Washington, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been advised by the Grant County Planning Deparhnent that the Grant County Planning Commission made a recommendation to deny on said matter, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County having received a copy of the transcript of the Open Record Planning Commission Public Hearing and application materials, have given notice this matter would be considered at a closed record public meeting on May 10, 1999 and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have made a decision to uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and adopt the findings to deny the proposed zone change from Suburban One to Neighborhood Commercial without prejudice and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal is not within a Critical Area as defined by the Grant County Resource Lands and Critical Areas Development Ordinance, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal is not consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and surrounding uses and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that a Determination of Non-Significance was issued for this proposal on March 5, 1999 and the requirements of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) have been met, and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that there is sufficient need in the area for the types of uses allowed in the proposed zone classification and; WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent has not presented sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of the subject property warrant a rezone of the property. � Page 2 of 2 . IN THE MATTER OF DENYING A ZONE CHANGE REQUEST FROM SUBURBAN ONE TONEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL IN A PORTION OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 19 N., RANGE 28 E., W.M., GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington do by this resolution deny the zone change request by Tren M. Jones from Suburban One to Neighborhood Commercial on the following described property. Lots 5 and 6, Block 2, Astro Acres Phase 1, in a Portidn of Section 34, Township 19 North, Range 28 East W.M., Grant County, Washington.
