RESOLUTION APPROVING A ZONE
CHANGE FROM COMMERCIAL
FREEWAY SERVICE TO GENERAL
COMMERCIAL

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been
advised by the Grant County Planning Commission that an Open Record Public Hearing was
conducted on May 6, 1998 on the matter of changing the zoning from Commercial Freeway
Service to General Commercial on an approximately 1.4 acre parcel (currently known as
Parcel #15-1123-001) located in a portion of the Southwest Quarter of Section 32, Township
19 North, Range 24 East W.M., Grant County, Washington, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have been
advised by the Grant County Planning Department that the Grant County Planning
Commission recommended approval on said matter with findings, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners o� Grant County having said
recommendation for approval, have giv�n notice this matter would be considered at a public
meeting on June 1, 1998, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have upheld
the recommendation for approval and findings of fact of the Grant County Planning
Commission;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal
does not fall within a Critical Area as defined by the Grant County Resource Lands and
Critical Areas Development Ordinance, and;

COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proposal
is not within the irrigated farm units of the Columbia Basin Project and does not receive a
water allotment, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that the proposal is consistent with the Grant County Comprehensive Plan and surrounding
uses, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that a Determination of Non-Significance was issued for this proposal on March 23, 1998 and
the requirements of SEPA have been met, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County have found
that the proponent has presented sufficient evidence that changed circumstances in the area of
the subject property warrant a rezone of the property, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the proponent
has presented sufficient evidence that there is sufficient need in the area for the types of uses
allowed and size of lots, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have found that the public
interest will be served by the approval of this rezone request
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners of Grant County, Washington do by this resolution approve the zone change
request from Agriculture to Suburban-2 on the following described property.
Subject property is currently known as Parcel #15-1123-001 and is described as below:

That portion of the Southwest Quarter of Section 32, Township 19 North, Range 24
East Wilamette Meridian, Grant County, Washington described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the Southeasterly right of way line of P.SH.
18 and the South line of said Section 32: said point of bearing N 89 55' 00"
West, 2,132.45 feet from the South Quarter corner of said Section 32, thence N
43 58' 47" East, 341.63 feet along said highway right of way to a point; thence
S 46 O1' 13" East 355.05 feet to a point on the South line of said Section 32;
thence N 89 55' 00" West, 492.72 feet to the point of beginning.
