VVHEREAS, Section 1 fl.16.010 of the Gra.nt County Code requires auihanzation from the
Baard of County Commissioners to designate certain winding or diaganal roads by r�ame, and
WHEREAS, #�e Board af County Commisszoners has detennined ihat naming certain
roads will be zn the best interest of Grani Couniy; and
�TI�ER.EAS, a certain Rc�ad �vas named Crook Rd SW, Road Log # I3150, Ter�ini
(Fxom-To) Rd. 14 SW and Hwy 26 W, ar�d
t�THET�EAS, it has been detexmined that a mare apprc�priaie name far the afore
mentioned raad wauld be Road A.7 SW,
NOW, THEREFtJRE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the nam� af a c�rta.in County Road be

original name A.7 SW. Priar ta the acquisition of 160 acr�s
by Albert Crook in the late �970's the road was labeled A.7
SW which was in accorden�:e with the rest of the County
Roads. Albert Crook, when he �latted the 160 acres, had the
County Road chariged. We as property owners along the changed
road ar� asking th�.t it be chan�ed back to it's arz�inal name
so it can be f'ound ea�ier when someone is looking for an
addres�.

Crook Estates road name change

In reference to the petition received for a road name change of
Crook Rd SW to Rd A.7 SW. This plat has three county roads
established by the plat, Crook Road SW, Crook Loop SW and Crook
Drive SW. The �equest for a change needs to be weighed with the
information we have provided. A resolution to change the name or
names, would be required for these platted roads.
If one road name is changed to meet the grid system, all road
names within this plat should be changed. If onZy one road name
in this plat is changed, there would be continued confusion for
Emergency Response. The road in question is the main road
accessing from State Highway 26. The other two roads access from
Crook Road SW.
Signatures on this petition are n.ot the majority af the property
owners within this plat. Assessors Office records show 22
property owners within this pZat. The petition shows eight
l.isted property owners with their signatures. The petition also,
lists other property owners without a signature or signatures
that do not match property ownership. Please note, there does
not seem to be any one person identified as the petitioners agent
for follow up on their request.
It also needs to be identified, with property owners, that if
approved for a name change, there would be changes in address
numbering. Changes are identified because of the platted roads
and their direction of travel.
Please advise this office of any decision you make in regards to
