HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-178-CC BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington A RESOLUTION ASSESSING COSTS FOR ) ABATEMENT DEMOLITION AT 4305 ) RESOLUTION NO. 99-178-CC ARNOLD STREET, MOSES LAKE, ) WASHINGTON, AND OTHER MATTERS ) PROPERLY RELATING THERETO ) ) ) ) ) ) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON, as follows: WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington (the "County"), is a third-class county, duly organized and operating under and by virtue of the Constitution and the laws of the State of Washington; and WHEREAS, the County is authorized and empowered by the Uniform Building Code, codified by and through chapter 14.04 of the Grant County Code, and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, to abate dangerous buildings and conditions; and WHEREAS, on or about May 1 l, 1999, the County issued Order to Abate D�ngerous Buildings, at 4305 Arnold Drive, Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington; and WHEREAS, a contract relating to the abatement demolition at the aforementioned property was let, and all work necessary to remove dangerous buildings and conditions found at the subject property was completed on or about September 20, 1999; and RESOLUTION SETTING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FOR COSTS FOR ABATEMENT DEMOLTTION- l. WHEREAS, on or about September 28, 1999,the Director ofPublic Works(Director)filed with tha Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), a report regarding the removal of the dangerous buildings and conditions found at the subject property; and WHEREAS, on or about October 7, 1999, the Director filed a supplemental report with the BOCC; and WHEREAS,the Director provided an itemized account of the total expenses incurred by the County for the abatement demolition at the subject address. Also included, was a report specifying the work done, a description of the real property upon which the building and dangerous conditions were located and the names and addresses of the persons entitled to notice; and WHEREAS, after the provision of lawful notice, the BOCC held a hearing on October 18, 1999, for the purpose of hearing and passing on the Director's report, together with any objections or protests which were properly filed pursuant to applicable authority, by any person in or affected by the proposed charge; and WHEREAS, no protests or objections to the proposed charge for the abatement demolition were presented to the BOCC during the afoiementioned hearing; and WHEREAS,the BOCC reviewed the correctness ofthe proposed charge, and confirmed the Director's report. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: Section 1: The BOCC is satisfied with the correctness of'the proposed charge for the subject abatement demolition. Section 2: The BOCC hereby confirms the charge and the Director's report. Section 3; The BOCC hereby finds and declares that the total costs incurred for the abatement of the dangerous building(s) and conditions at 4305 Arnold Street, Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington, shall be assessed against the subject real property. Section 4; The BOCC confirms the assessment,and orders the Treasurer to record the subject charge on the assessment roll, and thereafter said assessment shall constitute a special assessment against and a lien upon the property.
