RESOLUTIOI�T AUTI30RIZING GRANT COUNTY
TO COLLABORATE WITH COUNTIES,
STAKEHOLDERS, AND PARTNERS OF THE
EASTERN WASHINGTON REGIONAL HEALTH
ALLIANCE.
RESOLUTION N0.11- v �� -CC
WHEREAS, pursuant Chapter 36.32 RCW, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant
County, Washington, has the care of county property and the management of County funds and business;
and
W�IEItEt�S, Grant County has been working in collaboration with eight other Washington state
counties to create the Eastern Washington Regional Health A1liance. The counties included in such
alliance are Adams County, Ferry County, Grant County, Lincoln County, Okanogan County, Pend Oreille
County, Spokane County, Stevens County, and Whitman County; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Health Alliance is a public-private partnership that consists of local
governrnents, tribes, recognized American Indian organizations, state government, criminal justice
systems, regional health districts, community health centers, health plans, hospitals, primary medical care
and behavioral healthcare providers, housing providers, and the citizens of our region; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Regional Health Alliance is to research health problems, prioritize
health issues, set indicator targets, benchmark progress in achieving objectives, identify resources,
encourage and assist in the development of a coordinated regional health plan, serve as a catalyst for
positive change in the health care arena, foster collaborations, and initiate projects to promote the health
of the community, and assist local communities in creating organized systems of care and a supportive
system to help those in the safety net achieve better health, better care, and reduce costs; and
WHEREAS, collaboration by and between Grant County and the above listed counties,
stakeholders, and partners regarding formation of the Eastern Washington Regional Health Alliance for
purposes stated above is the best interests of Grant County citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that tha Board of County
Commissioners of Grant County adopt this Resolution wherein Grant County shall collaborate with the
above listed counties, stakeholders, and partners to form the Eastern Washington Regional Health
Alliance.
