Jim Ellis, Soap Lake,came today to discuss oil and how it's affecting our country's ecology and I
economics.He believes going to Natural Gas system in vehicles would be beneficial. He '
recommends the county require all new vehicles to have"dual fuel"ability. He has discussed this �
with the PUD and thinks the County and PUD can worlc together on this. Grant County could get �
notoriety from this then other Counties would follow. The Commissioners thanked him for
coming in. �

Essential Needs Grant(i1-462o4-5i1)Budget Extension i
The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider a budget extension request
in the amount of$62,000.0o to facilitate the new Housing and Essential Needs Grant the County ;
has entered into with the State of Washington's Department of Commerce,Agreement No. ii-
46204-511(Fund#i9o,Department#001). Commissioner Stevens moved to close the public j
comment portion of the hearing. Commissioner Carter seconded and the motion passed ;
unanimously. Commissioner Carter moved to approve the budget extensions as presented. ;
Commissioner Stevens seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned. '

auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.080,and those expense reimbursement claims certified by the '

9:0o a.m. —9:2o a.m. Open Record Public Hearing, 2012 Preliminary Budget Adoption
Pursuant to RCW 36.40.060,the Grant County Board of Commissioners has completed and
placed on file its preliminary 2oi2 budget for the County and will furnish a copy to any citizen
who will call our office at 509-754-2011 ext 428. The Commissioners will then meet December 5,
2oii at 9:go a.m.in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room,Courthouse,Ephrata,WA
for the purpose of fixing the final County budget,malcing tax levies,and adopting the Capital
Facilities Plan. Ken Holloway presented the preliminary budget to the Commissioners in the
amount of$i24,343�251.00, Commissioner Carter moved to close the public comment portion of
the hearing.Commissioner Stevens seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the budget extensions as presented.Commissioner
Carter seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned.

5. After receiving quotes from 3 vendors off the Small Worlcs/Vendor
Roster,Juvenile Court requests to purchase carpeting for g rooms
from Grant's Inc.in the amount of$3,2�0.45,using their Capital
Outlay Budget. Staff then asks to purchase carpeting for 2 other
offices,using current budgeted funds,in the amount of$1,g1g.68.
