HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 09-081-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION TO OFFER AND PAY A REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO ARREST AND CONVICTION FOR THEFT OR DESTRUCTION OF COUNTY ROAD SIGNS Resolution No. 09-�gi -CC WHEREAS, pursuant to Revised Code of Washington, Title 10. Criminal Procedure, Chapter 10.85.030, Grant County (the "County") has the legislative authority to authorize to offer and pay a suitable reward to any person or persons for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons committing a specified criminal offense; and WHEREAS, the governing body of the County may offer and pay a suitable reward to any person or persons who shall furnish information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person for any offense including but not limited to, those offenses set forth in RCW 9A.48.070 through 9A.48.090.whether or not the offense is a felony, gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County is the legislative authority for the County; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County has determined that the use and maintenance of County road signs is for the good of the public; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County desires to update Resolution No. 03-180-CC regarding offer and payment of reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction fro theft or destruction of county road signs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY WASHINGTON, as follows: Sec�ion 1: The Board of County Commissioners ("BOCC") authorizes the offer and payment of a reward within the guidelines set froth in RCW 10.85.030, for any person or group of persons, who furnish information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person for theft or destruction of county road signs. Section 2: The reward shall be payable to any person or group of persons upon conviction of any person or group of persons, in the sum of Five Hundred and No/100 ($500.00) per incident observed which resulfied in a conviction. Such payment shall nofi be per conviction, per road sign, or per defendant, but per incident observed which resulted in a conviction.
