The Grant County Comrnissioners session was called to order at 9:0o a.m, with all the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
COMMISSIONERS WOI�K SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by Commissioner Swartz, to approve items i
and 2 on the Worle Session agenda.
Item 3 was tabled for further review.
A Public Hearing was set for item 2 on August io, 2009 at 2:0o p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING, �HERIFF'S OFFICE BUDGET EXTENSION
The Comrnissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing regarding a budget extension request frorn the
Sheriff's Office. The original requested amount is $144,994•00. This amount has been reduced to
$189,706.00.

The request is to receive a grant from the Washington Sheriff's and Police Chiefs Association (WASPC) as
a pass-through grant from Justice Assistance Grant FFY2oo9 America Recovery and Reinvestment Act to
CTED. These funds will cover wages and benefits for 2 temporary (i2 month) full time positions.
Commissioner Swartz moved to close public comment portion of the hearing,
Commissioner Stevens seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Stevens moved to
adopt the budget extension as presented, Commissioner Swartz seconded and the motion passed
unanimously. The hearing adjourned. (Resolution No. 09-o63-CC)
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
The Commissioners approved and signed the Grant County Job Description Jalane Christian-Stoker,
Executive Director of Grant Integrated Services.
As of this date, the Board, by a rnajority vote, does approve for payment those vouchers certified by the
auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.080, and those expense reimbursement claims certified by the
auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.090, in the amount of $i9i,�62.42, as recorded on a listing and
made available to the Board.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until July 2i, 2009.

OPEN PUSLIC MEETING TO TAKE COMMENT ON THE PROPOSAL TO CLOSE COUNTY
DROP BOXES
The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Meeting to talce public comment on the proposal by the
Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) to close certain County drop boxes. Derelc Pohle, Public Worlcs
Director gave a bacicground description on the proposed. Currently 9 of the i5 drop boxes are in worleing
order. The proposal is before the Board because the cost is more to run than the revenue is being
received. Rate is $9 currently, and would have to go to $i8 to self fund the drop boxes. After talcing
public comment from those in attendance, Commissioner Stevens moved to close the public comment
portion of this meeting. Commissioner Swartz seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The
meeting adjourned.
OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING, 6 YEAR TRANSPORTATION PR.OGRAM
The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider adopting the proposed 6 year
transportation improvement program for the years 2oio-2o15 as presented by Derek Pohle, Public Worles
Director. The director then went over his staff report with the Commissioners. Commissioner Stevens
moved to close public comment portion of the hearing, Commissioner Swartz seconded and the motion
passed unanimously. Commissioner Swartz moved to approve the 6 Year Transportation Program for the
years 2oio-2oi5 as presented. Commissioner Stevens seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The hearing adjourned. (Resolution No. o9-o6i-CC)
