RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SALARY RESOLUTION No. 09- O�-CC
LEVELS FOR CERTAIN GRANT
COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS
WHEREAS, RCW 36.17.020 states, "The county legislative authority of each county or a county
commissioner or councilmember salary commission which conforms to RCW 36.17.024 is authorized to
establish the salaries of the elected officials of the county";
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 86-128-CC establishes salary levels for the County Commissioners;
WHEREAS, RCW 36.17.020 establishes the salary of the Elected Prosecutor. RCW 36.17.020 states
"The state of Washington shall contribute an amount equal to one-half the salary of a superior coui�t judge
towards the salary of the elected prosecuting attorney. Upon receipt of the state contribution, a county shall
continue to contribute towards the salary of the elected prosecuting attorney in an amount that equals or
exceeds that contributed by the county in 2008";
WHEItEAS, The Washington Citizens Commission on salaries for elected officials establishes the
Superior Court Jud�e's Salaries, of which 50% is paid by Washington State and 50% is paid by the county;
WHEREAS, The Washington Citizens Commission on salaries for elected of�cials establishes the
District Court Judge's salaries;
WHERAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to set the salaries of the Assessor, Auditor,
Clerk, Coroner, Sheriff, and Treasurer for the years 2009 through 2013 noting that these amounts must be
approved each year;
WHEREAS, after review by the County Commissioners and Human Resources Director, it has been
determined that an adjustment is necessary for these positions in order that these positions be treated with the
same consistency and parity as other employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the salaries listed below shall be set
as follows:
