An Ordinance relating to the adoption of Interirn Ofiicial Controls
temporarily amending the Unified Development Code (UDC) by
implementing interim Zoning designations consistent with the Land Use
Designations approved by the Eastern W�shington Growtih Management
Hearings Board, as aclopted in Resolution 04-007-CC, ancl other matters
properly relating thereto.
RECITALS:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (the "BOCC") intends to comply fully
with the orders �nd diractives of the Eastern Washington Growth Managernent Hearings Board
(the "Bo�rd") issued in case Nos. 99-1-0016 and 99-1-0019; and
WHEI2EAS, RCW 36.70A.390 provides for adoption of interim zoning controls for one
or more six-month periods provided Grant County (the "County") holds a public hearing on the
proposed Interim Zoning Ordin�nce and findings of fact are made prior to the renewal; and
WHEREAS, the Eastern Washington Growth Management Hearings Board has
dismissed the final remaining appeals in clse Nos. 99-1-0016 and 99-1-0019 filed against the
County's Comprehensive P1an; and
WHEREAS, the Eastern Washington Growth Management Hearings Board has found
the Lirnited Areas of More Intensive Rur�l Development (LAMIRDs) and associated L�nd Use
Design�tions in Resolution 04-007-CC to be GMA Compliant; and
WHEIZEAS, the Cot�nty fu11y intends to continue and connplete the worlc plan to bring
the LAMIRDs into full compliance with the Fin�tl Decision and Orders of the Bo1rd and the Act
through the �mendment and adoption of �n updated Zoning m�p in order to implement
Resolution 04-007-CC; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of t]Ze BOCC tl�at this interim measure be in effect for a slzorl
period of time. However, if �dditional time is necessaxy, it is also the intant of th� BOCC ta
ia�aintain compliance with the Board's decisions th��ough tl�e extension oI'this ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, The ]30CC does hereby ordaizl �t�d establish ii�teriin
development zegul�tions �nd adopts by reference ResolL�tion 04-007-CC, �nd est�blishes interim
zoning designatiozls that are col�sistent with and ii�.��lement tl�e L�nd Use Designations �dopted
in Resolution 04-007-CC.

In the event an �dditional extension is necessary, the BOCC hereby tentatively schedules
a Public He�ring for July 21, 2008 1t a time to be determined, in the Grant County Courthouse,
Board of County Commissioners Hearings Room, �phr�ita, Washington.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, Grant County Ordinance No,
07-117-CC is hereby repealed efiective Tebruary 2�, 2008, �t 11:59 pm,
NOW TIIEI2EFORE BE IT FURTHER ORDAIN�D, that at such time the Bo�rd of
County Commissioner's �pprove "final amended Zoning Designations" implementing
Resolution 04-007-CC prior to the expiration of this Ordinance, this Ordinance shall be null �nd
void.
FASSED by the Board of Grant County Commissioners in regular session at Ephrata,
Washington, by the fallowing vote, then signed by its memUership 1nd attested by its Clerlc in
authorization of such passage.
