BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF GRANT COUNTY, VVASHINGTON
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN RESOLUTION NO. 14� ��,�� -CC
GRANT COUNTY PREVENTION AND
RECOVERY CENTER AND THE MOSES LAI�
POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, chapter 39.34 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
governmental entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to
cooperate with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing
services and facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of govarnmental organization that will
accord best with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and
development of local communities; and
�'HEREAS, Grant County, Washington and Moses Lalce, Washington, municipal
corporations created in situated within the State of Washington, are vested with authority to
enter into an interlocal agreement pursuant to chapter 39.34 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the Prevention and Recovery Center ("PARC") is a department of Grant
Integrated Services ("GrIS"), a Grant County agency, and the Moses Lalce Police Department
("MLPD") is a department of Moses Lake, Washington; and
WHEREAS, PARC and the MLPD have entered into a interlocal agreement for the
purpose of inemorializing the intent of PARC and the MLPD, to wit: MLPD will continue to
participate in the Moses Lalce Community Prevention Coalition, and will carry out enforcement
strategies identi�ed within the Law Enforcement Partnership Grant and the Partnership for
Success strategic plan, concerning enforcemant of underage drinking laws, to wit: compliance
checks and party intervention patrols. Further, the role of PARC and MLPD shall be '
characterized by their respective statutory authority and responsibility regarding persons mutually �
served.

NOW, THEI�EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the attached Interlocal Agreement be j
executed by and between Grant County Integrated Servicas: Prevention and Recovery Center and
the Moses Lake Police Departinent '
