HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 13-088-CC BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS : Grant County,Washington RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION No. 13- ��� -CC ADOPTING THE GRANT COUNTY ALL- � HAZARDS COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington 38.52.070, authorizes and directs local jurisdictions to establish an emergency management organization and develop and maintain a local comprehensive emergency management plan; and WHEREAS, the All-Hazards Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan provides the County with a method to address the County's preparedness for handing and responding to incident(s) and/or disasters, and assisting citizens to be prepared in case of incident(s) and/or ; disaster; and � �VHEREAS, the Grant County All-Hazard Comprehensive Emergency Management ' Plan serves as the plan and conceptual framework for emergency management in the County of Grant, and is ready for formal adoption by the County Board of Commissioners; and WHEREAS, upon adoption of this revised plan, staff from the County of Grant will pursue available funding opportunities for implantation of the proposals designated herein; and WHEREAS, the County of Grant will, upon receipt of such funding or other necessary resources, seek to implement the proposals contained within the revised Grant County All- ; Hazards Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan; WHEREAS, the County of Grant will continue to participate in the updating and expansion of the Grant County All-Hazards Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan in years ahead; and N:/Resolution-Ordinances/Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan Adoption 121713.doc ; ; WHEItEAS, the County of Grant will further seek to encourage the businesses, industries, and community groups operating within and/or for the benefit of the county to also participate in the future updating and expansion of the Grant County All-Hazard Emergency Management Plan in the years ahead. WHEREAS, it is neither implied nor should it be inferred that the Grant County All- Hazards Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan guarantees that a perfect response to an ' incident(s) and/or disaster(s) will be practical or possible. No plan can shield individuals from all incident(s) and/or disaster(s). While every reasonable effort will be made to respond to incident(s) and/or disaster(s), resources and/or systems may be overwhelmed. Some events ' provide little or no warning to implement operational procedures and all emergency plans are dependent upon tactical execution, which may be imperfect. This plan can only be fulfilled if the situation, information exchange, extent of actual capabilities and resources are available at the , time of the incident. � The Grant County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts and approves the revised Grant County All-Hazards Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
