RESOLUTION RATIFYING RESOLUTION NO. � � �` �� I " � �"
EXPANSION OF MEMBERSHIP
OF HEALTH DISTRICT BOARD OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington
approved a Resolution establishing the Grant County Health District and providing for a 7-
member Board of Health on or about December 4, 1967.
WHEl2EAS, a 9-member Grant County Health District Board of Health has served and
should continue to serve as the local board of health for Grant County, Washington.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington met in
regular session on the 18th of April 2011, for the purpose of considering the approval,
ratification and confirmation of the expansion of the membership of the Grant County Health
District Board of Health from 7 member to 9 members; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington finds
and determines that it is necessary and proper to approve, ratify and confirm: (1) the expansion
of the membership of the Grant County Health District Board of Health from 7 members to 9
members; and (2) that the members of the Grant County Health District Board of Health shall be:
(a) the 3 County Commissioners of Grant County, Washington; and (b) elected officials from
cities and towns within Grant County, Washington and persons other than elected officials, with
all representation, selection, appointment and other issues pertaining to the board to be decided
and determined by the Grant County Health District Board of Health, so long as the persons
other than elected officials do not constitute a majority of the members on the Grant County
Health District Board of Health.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the following are hereby
approved, rati�ed and con�rmed: (1) the expansion of the membership of the Grant County
Health District Board of Health from 7 members to 9 members; and (2) the membership and
composition of the Grant County Health District Board of Health shall be: (a) the 3 County
Commissioners of Grant County, Washington; and (b) elected officials from cities and towns
within Grant County, Washington and persons other than elected officials, with all
representation, selection, appointment and other issues pertaining to the board to be decided and
determined by the Grant County Health District Board of Health, so long as the persons other
than elected officials do not constitute a majority of the members on the Grant County Health
District Board of Health.
