The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 8:3o a.m. with all the Commissioners in
attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Swartz, seconded by Commissioner Stevens, to approve item 1 on
the Work Session agenda. The motion passed unanimously.
T HECHLER HUMAN RESOURCES UPDATE
After further review, The Commissioners approved and signed the Juvenile Department request for an
exception to the hiring freeze to hire a Bilingual Aide.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
As of this date, the Board, by a majority vote, does approve for payment those vouchers certified by the
auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.o8o, and those expense reimbursement claims certified by the
auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.090, in the amount of $321,158.34, as recorded on a listing and
made available to the Board.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until March 2, 2010.

A LEE, EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING POTENTIAL LITIGATION
Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (1)(i) Commissioner Carter opened the session at 9:45 a.m. to go until 9:55
a.m. Commissioner Carter closed the session at 9:55 a.m.
D POHLE, PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE
The Commissioners approved and signed item 1 as listed above. The bid opening was set for March 23,
2010 at 1:30 pm. Items 2 and 3 were not received for action.
CONSENT AGENDA
Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the Consent Agenda, Commissioner Swartz seconded and the
motion passed unanimously, as presented below:

Special Occasion License Application for the Mattawa Desert Aire Lions, PO Box 2191, Mattawa,
WA 99349, from the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

HUMANRESOURCES
Recommendation to approve an updated `Addendum B' for Public Works employees within the
Grant County Public Employees' Association.
Personnel Action Request Recommendation for the Sheriffs Office request for an exception to the
hiring freeze to hire one Records Specialist. The Director recommends approval.
CORONER'S OFFICE
Request for consent of the Board of County Commissioners to retain volunteer Special Deputy
Coroners in accordance with RCW 68.52.020. This will allow this office to have 4-6 volunteers
available for an immediate response to a mass casualty/fatality or multiple scene events that have
basic training in death scene investigation.
,I POHLING. HOUSING AUTHORITY — DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE APPLICATION FOR
FUNDING
The Chair of the Board was authorized to sign the Form B County Certification between Grant County,
Housing Authority of Grant County, and the Department of Commerce for the 2010-2011 Emergency
Shelter and Homeless Prevention Program Application.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
The Commissioners implemented mandatory Harassment Training for all Grant County employees.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until March 5, 2010.
