Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 07-077-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION No. 07- 091 -CC ORDINANCE No. 07-e99 - CC AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 11.04.035 OF THE GRANT COUNTY CODE BY ADDING A PORTION OF BASELINE E ROAD TO THE LIST OF COUNTY ROADS IN GRANT COUNTY WITH A POSTED MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT OF THIRTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR AND, OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO. RECITALS: WHEREAS, the Public Works Department (Department) received a petition from residents and property owners in the vicinity of Baseline E Road and CR K 7 SE, Moses Lake, Washington, requesting a reduction in the posted speed limit to 35 miles per hour, on Baseline E Road, from CR K 7 SE, mile post 1.750, to SR 17, mile post 2.330; and WHEREAS, the Grant County Sheriff's Office and the Department concur with the request that the posted maximum speed limit within the aforementioned area be changed and established to 35 miles per hour, and WHEREAS, the BOCC has found and determined that it is reasonable, advisable and necessary for the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of Grant County, visitors, the traveling public and those otherwise utilizing public county roads and rights of way, and to change and establish a change of the maximum posted speed in aforementioned area to 35 miles per hour. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, THAT GRANT COUNTY CODE 11.04.035 BE AMENDED BY ADDING A NEW PORTION OF A COUNTY ROAD WHEREON THE MAXIMUM POSTED SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MILES PER HOUR. Section 1. Grant County Code 11.04.035, adopted by Ordinance/Resolution No 85 -10 -CC on May 10, 1985, amended by Ordinance/Resolution No. 90 -29 -CC on May 1, 1990, amended by Ordinance; Resolution No 90 -44 -CC on June 4, 1990, amended by Grant County Ordinance/Resolution No. 91 -137 -CC on October 16, 1991, amended by Ordinance/Resolution No 96 -38 -CC on March 26, 1996, amended by Ordinance/Resolution No. 05 -230 -CC on May 26, 2005, is hereby amended to read.
