WHEREAS, pursuantto an Interlocal Agreement dated November 15, 1974,
Grant County was designated the lead agencyto provide, operate, and maintain a County-
wide Solid Waste Disposal System, and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to said agreement, Grant County acquired a number
of sanitary landfills, other facilities, equipment and supplies, all of which belong to Grant
County, in order to establish the Solid Waste Disposal System, and,
WHEREAS, the funds required to operate the Grant County Solid Waste
Disposal System should be derived from disposal fees collected from users of the system;
and,
WHEREAS, due to the increasing costs for operation of the disposal sites
and meeting the requirements ofthe Washington State Department of Ecology has created
a need to increase the disposal fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Grant County, Washington, that effective January 1, 2008, the fees for
disposal privileges at Grant County operated Solid Waste Disposal facilities shall be as
shown on EXHIBIT "A" attached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County reserves the right to refuse
to accept any Solid Waste brought to any County disposal facility which is classified as
dangerous or hazardous by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency or any wastes
brought to a dropbox facility which exceeds the County's handling capability either due to
volume or weight.
