HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommissioners Proceedings - Commissioners - 20 (432)COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of February 21, 2006 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. with all the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners approved a two percent (2%) general wage increase to the Compensation Plan salary structure for Teamsters Sheriff Support Staff and Prosecuting Attorney Legal Secretary employees; and the Grant County Public Employees Associations: Courthouse, Juvenile and Public Works employees, effective January 1, 2006 The Commissioners also approved a 50/50 split (employer/employee) to the Health Insurance increase to the above units, effective February 1, 2006. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding: 1:30 Bid Opening on the Road District No 2 Shop Embankment Project; Execution of Contracts for various equipment contracts; and the DRS Tax Deferred Issue. The Commissioners held a Bid Opening on Road District No. 2 Shop Embankment Project. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Stevens, to refer the bids to Public Works for their review and recommendation. The motion carred. The Commissioners signed the following equipment contracts: Motor Grader (ER&R 2006-5), Rowand Machinery Company; 12 CY Dump Trailers (ER&R 2006-07), Freedom Truck Centers, Inc.; Self-propelled Power Brooms (ER&R 2006-08), Clyde West Inc.; Telescoping Excavator (ER&R 2006-09), Rowand Machinery Company; Miscellaneous Small Equipment (ER&R 2006-12), Alpine Products, Inc. and United Rentals, Inc. As of this date, the Board, by a majority vote, does approve for payment those vouchers certified by the auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24 080, and those expense reimbursement claims certified by the auditing officer as required by RCW 42.24.090, in the amount $1,199,376.88, as recorded on a listing and made available to the Board. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore, that Resolution No. 06 -120 -CC, a resolution to establish a new fund titled Grant County Tax Refund Fund, be passed The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Allison, that Resolution No. 06 -121 -CC, a resolution in the matter of declaring property surplus, Grant County Homes, located at 836 E Plum Street (parcel no. 91539001) and ordering the sale thereof, be passed. The motion carred A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore, that Resolution No. 06 -122 -CC, a resolution approving an amendment to the PUD (Site Development Plan) for Desert Aire, be passed. The Commissioners accepted the recommendation of the Human Resources Director to approve salary adjustment for Travis Skidmore, Project Coordination, Emergency Management. The Commissioners accepted the request of the Sheriffs Office Chief Deputy to approve the excess cost per meal at the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation's Annual Ball and Auction. The Commissioners accepted the request of the Human Resources Director to approve travel costs for two Health Insurance Committee members to attend the annual Benefits Summit in Boise, Idaho. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until February 27, 2006. Signed this day of NO, 2006.
