HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommissioners Proceedings - Commissioners - 20 (368)COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of April 25, 2005 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioners Moore and Stevens in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Allison was out of town and excused. Commissioner Moore acted as Vice Chairman in the absence of Commissioner Allison, Chair. The Commissioners met in executive session with legal counsel for 90 minutes regarding current litigation. The Vice -Chair of the Board was authorized to sign the following contracts by and between Big Bend Community College and Grant County: Outlook Level I, TI, III; PowerPoint Level I and Il; and Microsoft Excel Level I, II and III. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until April 26, 2005. April 26, 2005 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioners Moore and Stevens in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Allison was out of town and excused. Commissioner Moore acted as Vice Chairman in the absence of Commissioner Allison, Chair. The Commissioners approved the corrected separation date of April 14, 2005 for Angie L. Hightower, FARC. The Commissioners met with Derek Pohle, PE, Director/County Engineer, Public Works Department, regarding: Local Agency Agreement Supplement: Stratford Road; 2:00 p.m. Bid Opening: Liquid Asphalt 2005; Old Quincy Shop Site; EDA: EDC Invoice; Stratford Road; HW Event; and Solid Waste Management Plan Update. The Commissioners held a Bid Opening on Liquid Asphalt 2005. A motion was made by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by Commissioner Moore, to refer the bids to Public Works for their review and recommendation. The motion carried. The Commissioners signed, at the recommendation of Derek Pohle, PE, Director/County Engineer, Public Works Department, a Washington State Department of Transportation Local Agency Agreement Supplement for construction funding for Stratford Road. The Commissioners approved the corrected recommendation of the Human Resources Director for the Emergency Management Director position to be reclassified from Band 14 to Band 16. Page 1 of 3 COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of April 25, 2005 The Commissioners approved the recommendation of the Human Resources Director for the wage, salary anchor position changes for Mildred Curran, Sheriff's Office ; John Rapp, Facilities and Maintenance; and David Firebaugh, Auditor's Office. The Commissioners approved the hire date of April 18, 2005 for Karl Shultz, Prosecuting Attorney's Office; January 18, 2005 for Laure L. Buchanan, Auditor's Office, Recording Unit; April 15, 2005 for Tonya Earley, Jail; May 5, 2005 for Dan Hagerup, Grant Mental Healthcare; and April 25, 2005 for Gracey Farahbakhsh, Commissioners' Office. The Commissioners approved the separation dates of April 21, 2005 for Tami Zeigler, Directions in Community Living; June 15, 2005 for Stephanie Ahrens and Louise Greenlee, and August 31, 2005 for Harry Tomson, Grant Mental Healthcare. The Commissioners met in executive session with legal counsel for 30 minutes regarding potential litigation. The Commissioners approved a budget transfer correction to the 2005 budget of the Commissioners office in the amount of $2,000.00. The Commissioners approved the request from Grant County Juvenile Court and Youth Services for Out of State Travel for one employee to attend a conference in Nevada. The Commissioners approved a budget transfer to the 2005 budget of Grant Mental Healthcare in the amount of $38,600.54. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until April 27, 2005. April 27, 2005 The session was continued at 9.00 a.m. with Commissioners Moore and Stevens in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Allison was out of town and excused. Commissioner Moore acted as Vice Chairman in the absence of Commissioner Allison, Chair. The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval No. 04-1 through No. 04118 in the total amount of $235,656.93, as recorded on a listing and made available to the Board.
