IN THE MATTER OF THE SUPPORT OF RESOLUTION Na. 04- WICC
MULTI -JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD
MITIGATION PLANNING
Whereas, areas of Grant County are vulnerable to the human and economic costs of natural,
technological and societal disasters, and
Whereas, the Grant County governing body realizes the importance of reducing or eliminating
those vulnerabilities for the overall good and welfare of the community, and
Whereas, Grant County will be an active participant in the Grant County Mitigation Task Force,
which will established a comprehensive, coordinated planning process to eliminate or decrease
these vulnerabilities, and
Now therefore, be it resolved:
1] Grant County is committed to protecting the property and lives of citizens of this county
through comprehensive disaster mitigation planning,
2] Grant County is determined to complete mandated planning leading to an Federal
Emergency Management Agency approved Grant County Hazard Mitigation Plan, and
3] NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT to facilitate this effort
all County Departments will collaborate with the Department of Emergency Management in the
development of this emergency and disaster strategy.
