A RESOLUTION relating to the establishment of a new fund / department to be named:
Grant County Sheriff s Office #117, Department #114.
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the Board of County Commissioners
that a new fund / department should be established as set forth hereinabove; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of said fund / department may be accomplished without a
public hearing pursuant to state and county budget laws,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, that
the following fund / department is hereby created and established: Sheriff's Office #117,
Department #114, and the Grant County Auditor and the Grant County Treasurer are hereby
directed to establish said fund / department in their respective offices.
This resolution is in the best interests of good government and shall take effective
immediately.

To date, we have established the Traffic Safety Revolving Fund by resolution
(No. 04 -103 -CC). In order to adopt a budget (both revenue source and expenditures), it is
required that we hold a public hearing which is properly noticed. Now that we are in receipt of
your proposed expenditure budget request for the above named fund, our office will coordinate
with you the earliest potential date for the open record public hearing. Also, the Board needs an
accurate description of the funding source. Since we do not want to delay the process, we will
use "donated funds" as the revenue description for now.

Per our meeting results date regarding the Traffic Safety Revolving Fund account
resolution, find below the expenditure budget that the Board indicated it needed to
complete the resolution process.
This expenditure report represents the project's initial $5000 of donated funds. Since the
Board indicated today the resolution would be completed in a timely fashion, the Sheriff
will now proceed with his efforts to generate more funds.

In light of the pending fiscal problems Grant County faces, the Sheriff has decided to
seek from private sources donations for special projects, i.e. vehicular traffic
enforcement.
To ensure donors their contributions will be spent for the desired purpose, the Sheriff
would like to establish a revolving fund account, which would allow the monies to be
carried over from one fiscal period to the next. The Sheriff's Office currently has three
accounts similar in design, Fund 106, Fund 107 and Fund 109.
Your assistance in accomplishing this would be very much appreciated.
