SERVICE HOURS for SOLID
WASTE COLLECTION SITES
WHEREAS. the Director of Public Works has completed a comprehensive review of the operational
hours and associated costs of Grant County's Solid Waste Disposal Services, and
WHEREAS, the Grant County Solid Waste Advisor\ Board has reviewed and discussed the various
options and proposals presented by the Director of Public Works and the consensus opinion of the Solid Waste
Advisory Board did support the proposed changes in operational hours and two dropbox collection site
closures to reduce costs and maintain compliance «ith theoperational license obtained from the Grant County
Health Dept. and the Washington State Dept of Ecology mid
WHEREAS. the Board of County Coiunussionci s i ecognizes the costs of solid waste disposal will rise
in the ftrture because of the ncx� operational standards that must be implemented for all new sanitary landfill
cells as mandated by the Washington State Dept. of Ecolog%, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners ,grew in principle with the purposes for and results
of, cost containment measures and maintaining complianc,: a rth said operational license, and
WHEREAS. the Board of County Conunissioncr� desacs to maintain and operate a sanitary landfill
and dropbox collection system in accordance mth tl,c latest adopted Grant Countv Solid Waste
Comprehensive Plan,
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. the Board of County Commissioners finds it is necessary
to revise the hours of service at the solid waste collection sites and hereby adopts the following Service Hours
for the various sites listed. the Board of County Commissioners further orders the dropbox collection sites
located at Ruff and ADCO be closed and the assets from these mo sites be incorporated as required into other
dropbox locations: the Board of Count-\ Commissioners tlrrthcr orders that these adopted service hours shall
be made effective March 4, 2002.
