Approved this 3rd day of December, 2001 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ATTEST: GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON Clerk o the Boa Chairman C1x J COLUMBIA BASIL t G WMA(Ground Water Man Citizens and Local Government Working Togethef for Safe Drinking Water November 15, 2001 Tim Snead, Member LeRoy C. Allison, Member Deborah Kay Moore, Member Grant County Board of Commissioners P.O. Box 37, C Street NW Ephrata, WA 98823 Re: 2002 Cost Share BMP Implementation Dear Commissioners: An extensive budgeting process was completed in September 2001, as part of the budgeting and Workplan drafting for the EPA FY2000 Grant. This budget was reviewed and approved at the monthly meeting of the Columbia Basin GWMA Administrative Board held on September 26, 2001. Because of the success of the cost share program in 2000, and 2001, and because of the obvious need for Irrigation Water Management, and the Deep Soil Sampling Education program, cost share for these programs is included as a major component of the GWMA budget for 2002. The Executive Board agreed that GWMA',; budget goal is to expend $136,853 in 2002 for the Deep Soil Sampling Education and Monitoring program. GWMA also has the budget goal to expend $432,158 of its Grant funds to support and cost share Irrigation Water Management. There also exists a need to extend and increase the amount allotted for technical assistance from the Conservation Districts in support of Deep Soil Sampling and Irrigation Water Monitoring. The Executive Board agreed to expend $105,000 for Technical Assistance to the CD's in 2002, to defray their expenses in implementing these projects. We are requesting a formal approval of this action from the Commissioners in the form of a Resolution. Please notify me as soon as that has been accomplished. If you have any questions regarding this project, please feel free to contact me. I would also be glad to attend a Commissioner's Meeting to discuss these projects for 2002. Thank you for your help in this matter. Sincerely, Lynn F.
