GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NUMBER 2002 -194 -CC
A RESOLUTION authorizing an appropriation and expenditure of funds
for the following department/fund: current Expense Fund 11001
Flections Dept. 01108 , together with a budget therefore,
pursuant to RCW 36.40.140.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of
County Commissioners of Grant County that emergency conditions require
that an appropriation and expenditure of funds be authorized for the above-
mentioned department/fund, together with a budget therefor; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.140, Resolution No. 2oo2-184-cc
Was duly adopted on November 26, 2002 and published in the _
na;l4 Heralci on 12/4&12/02 declaring an
emergency and stating the facts constituting the emergency and the
estimated amount of funds required to meet it, together with a notice of
public hearing, and said public hearing was held thereon where interested
persons were allowed to appear and be heard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GRANT COUNTY, STATE OF
WASHINGTON, that an appropriation and expenditure of funds is hereby
authorized for the following department/fund: Current Expense Fund 11001
Elections Dept.01108 In the total sum. of S >7,600 according to
the attached budget.
This resolution is in the best interests of good government and shall
take effect immediately upon its passage.

Dear County Commissioners:
I am writing to request a budget extension for the Elections budget. I make my best
estimate for the Elections budget but have no control over special elections that are
requested by cities, towns, and special districts. Where were several unanticipated
elections requested this year, but along with the expenses there were unanticipated
revenues from the entities to pay for their elections. I am requesting an Election's budget
extension of $27,600. The revenue source i, the unanticipated revenues that exceeded our
budgeted revenue.
