INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: BOARD OF COUNTY qCOMMISSIONERS
FROM: ANGIE CLARK C 1
SUBJECT: PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFiCF—PAR'I'-II%IF: I EGAL SECRETARY POSITION
ACTION: REQUIRED
DATE: 7/30/2002
CC: STEVE HALLSTROM
As discussed yesterday, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has for more than three years now had
approval for a permanent part-time position for legal secretary. However, this position is not
recognized as a salaried position and should be as a permanent part-time position rather than a
temporary/seasonal part-time position paid at an hourly rate
A resolution from the Board of County Commissioner's with a carbon copy to Accounting is
required to officially create this position as a 40% FTE Legal Secretary- in the Prosecuting
Attorney's Office. This position will not be eligible for any employee benefits. This position has
been evaluated through the salary survey process and placement in the compensation plan will
depend on incumbent's tenure and skills.

Re: Sheila Poe
Dear Commissioners:
Sheila Poe has been working for our office on for approximately 64 hours a month.
She has had to have absolutely no training and the ability to step in and work any desk
with ease. She is a very'valuable employee and has been a great asset. We would like
to pay her at the rate ofl0k'o of a secretary ffi, effective June .1;' 1f§99. Sheila does
not need direct supervision and has many other strengths.,
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Very truly yours,
John Knodell
