HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 03-017-CCNT COU G� hTf BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - Grant County, Washington IN THE MATTER OF LEASING AND SELLING A PORTION OF FARM UNIT 64, Resolution No. 2003 -017 -CC BLOCK 75, IN THE COLUMBIA BASIN FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS IRRIGATION PROJECT WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to lease and sell real property through RCW 36.34, and WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that it is in the best interests of the county and the taxing districts and the people thereof that Farm Unit 64, Block 75, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, Except the northeasterly 10.644 acres lying north of the USBR irrigation canal right- of-way, belonging to Grant County should be leased and sold under the limitations and restrictions and in the manner prescribed by law, and WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Board did publish notice of the Board's intention to lease and sell the described real estate once each week during two successive weeks in a legal newspaper of general circulation in the county, and posted the notice in a conspicuous place in the courthouse. Both posting and the date of first publication occurred at least ten days before the day set for the hearing, and WHEREAS, a hearing on the proposal to lease and sell Farm Unit 64, Block 75, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, Except the northeasterly 10.644 acres lying north of the USBR irrigation canal right- of-way, occurred in the County Commissioner's Hearing Room, located in the County Courthouse, 35 C Street NW, Ephrata, WA, at 1:30 P.M. on Feb . 18, 2003, and all taxpayers in person or by counsel were allowed to submit evidence and submit an argument. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners finds that it is in the best interests of the county and the taxing districts and the people thereof that Farm Unit 64, Block 75, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, Except the northeasterly 10.644 acres lying north of the USBR irrigation canal right-of-way, belonging to the county should be leased and sold under the limitations and restrictions and in the manner prescribed by law.
