Board of County Commissioners Angie Clark December 3, 2002 Public W o ks Public Works has requested the re-establishment of a previously approved full- time position, Office Engineer. Recommendation Summary. I recommend approval of this request If approved, this position will need to be sent for salary evaluation prior to the recruitment process. Analysis: This is a previously approved position and the duties have been recently performed, mostly by the Associate Engineer and the Accountant, taking away from their primaryjob responsibilities as well as other positions in the department. The reestablishment of this position will not only ease these burdens, but ensure that the County is fulfilling requirements such as records maintenancetretention, contract administration, permitting administration, etc. I hope that I have provided the Board with sufficient information to make a decision in this matter. Please contact me with questions or for further assistance. If approved, please provide me with a copy of the approval, so that the position may be submitted for salary evaluation. You may want to provide a cover memo to the Auditor that the position was approved in 2002. 1 guess we should have done the resolution right when the position was approved even if salary wasn't established That's why they say hindsight Is 20/20 1 think a copy of the resolution should go to Public Works as well.
