HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 03-132-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION No. 03 -132 -CC ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM CURRENT EXPENSE ENDING FUND BALANCE FOR GRANT COUNTY WHEREAS, on September 23, 2003, the Board of County Commissioners, adopted Resolution 2003 -127 -CC; Establishing A Minimum Current Expense Ending Fund Balance For Grant County; and WHEREAS, based on further review, including presentation of additional information, that it would be prudent to repeal Resolution 2003 -127 -CC, Establishing A Minimum Current Expense Ending Fund Balance For Grant County and, readopt a Grant County policy regarding the establishment of a minimum current expense ending fund balance for Grant County; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, deem it to be fiscally responsible and prudent to maintain an ending fund balance in the Grant County Current Expense budget, equal to the amount of the first three (3) months of the current year expenditures, in the event of unforeseen circumstances that could adversely affect the budget and Grant County operations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that Resolution 2003 -127 -CC, adopted on September 23, 2003, is hereby repealed in its entirety and, Be It, FURTHER RESOLVED, Grant County will commence maintaining an ending fund balance in the Grant County Current Expense budget, equal to an amount of the first three (3) months of the budget year expenditures, to be available to address unforeseen circumstances that could adversely affect the budget and Grant County operations and, Be It, FURTHER RESOLVED, any excess revenues over expenditures shall be set aside to increase the ending fund balance year by year until the goal outlined above has been achieved.
