Week of February 12, 2001
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00
a.m. by Chairman LeRoy Allison. Commissioner Snead was in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board. Commissioner Moore was out of the office.
The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding
session as written.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Sally Catlin of the
Assessors Office to $2,480 per month, effective February 1, 2001.
J,L�'1_)The Commissioners approved the request by Grant County Health
District for funding for the plan they have to provide a visual marker that
would warn recreational water users of the potential danger involved in
water recreation and encourage the use of safety measures to prevent water
related injury and drowning deaths.
IqA )¢ y The Commissioners approved the request for out of state travel for
Carole L. Highland to attend the training for Prosecuting Gangs and Violent
Crimes.
1`t•+ I -j , The Commissioners set a Public Hearing for February 26, 2001 at
1:00 p.m. regarding the request for supplemental/new budget for the
Domestic Violence Fund 4128, Department #170 in the amount of $4,700
from unanticipated state/federal funds.
i ),3,/(.As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 2/12/01 in the total amount of
$699,071.68.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the
session was continued until February 13, 2001.
February 13, 2001
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Allison and
Commissioner Snead in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding
Contract Execution -Passenger Cars, Resolution -Purchasing Process, City of
Moses Lake -Repayment Schedule, BRCT Legislation.
'7A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -19 -CC in the matter of
approving an exemption from the usual process for purchases involving less
than $25,000 be passed. The motion carried.
/,�/ �3,/KThe Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher
Approval #1-1 through #1-194 in the total amount of $861,560.12.
/`/ ;'The Commissioners signed the Contract with Wendle Motors Inc. for
the purchase of 4, 2001 Ford Taurus LX sedans.
U.� The Commissioners appointed Rollin Toya and Larry D. Duffner to
additional terms on the Grant County Noxious Weed Control Board.
l The Commissioners met with the Hiawatha Action Committee
regarding their concerns about the possibility of an Asphalt Plant in their
area.
0----),A motion was made by Commissioner Snead seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -20 -CC relating to the
establishment of a new fund/department to be named Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant Fund 4123, Department #165 be passed. The
motion carried.
-A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -21 -CC reappointing
Members Bill Wagoner and Wayne Hampton, and alternate Gerry McFaul to
positions on the Sprayfields and Wastewater Disposal Ground Water
Advisory Committee of the GWAC be passed. The motion carried.

Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -22 -CC reappointing
Members Lyle Bair, Dale Wentworth, Bill Lamphere, Hugh Baker, Ray
Wardenaar, Jerry Allred, Dale Pomeroy, Peter Dufault, Dale Gies, Gary
Pelter, Ron Turner, and Mike LaPlant, and Alternates Dan Myers, Roger
Etter, Dan Roseburg, Cecil Miller, Jim Huntzinger, George Jelmberg, Keith
Rupprecht, Mike Thiede, and Richard Leitz to positions on the Irrigated and
Dryland Agriculture Ground Water Advisory Committee of the GWAC be
passed. The motion carried.
- A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -23 -CC reappointing
Members Dwain Forester, Don Fancher, Brian DeHoog and Don Floren, and
Alternates Gary Ottley, Ed Field, and Rex Chamberlain to positions on the
Dairy, Feedlot and Cattlemen Ground Water Advisory Committee of the
GWAC be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -24 -CC reappointing
Members Scott Clark, June Strickler, Kevin Barry, Phil Riche, and Fredrick
Slaugh, and Alternates Billie Sumrall, John Glassco, Raul Diaz, and Gerald
James to positions on the Urban and Rural Residential Ground Water
Advisory Committee of the GWAC be passed. The motion carried.
- /A motion was made by Commissioner Snead, seconded by
Commissioner Allison that Resolution Number 2001 -25 -CC reappointing
Members James Clark, Phil Anderson, and Larry Williamson and Alternates
Jerry Husband, and Gie Perleberg to positions on the Environment and
Recreation Ground Water Advisory Committee of the GWAC be passed.
The motion carried.
As there was no further business to come before the Board the session
was adjourned until February 20, 2001.
