HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommissioners Proceedings - Commissioners - 20 (104)COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of July 16, 2001 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioner Snead and Commissioner Moore in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. Chairman Allison was out of the office attending the NACO Meetings. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. The Commissioners approved the salary of Deputy Mark Mann as the Chief Criminal Deputy. 1--1 Vi 3 The Commissioners received the resignation of Marge Heacock Program Manager of New Hope, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. The Commissioners received the resignation of Dave Dinges from the Planning Commission. I�aASh As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 7/16/2001 in the total amount of $1,033,100.08. I i,99% The Commissioners approved the starting salary of John R. Darling of the Juvenile Probation Department at $908.40 per month. The Commissioners approved the salary increase of June Strickler of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to 100% of legal secretary I, effective July 1, 2001. ai<�� The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Orvella Fields of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to 100% of legal secretary 11, effective August 1, 2001. The Commissioners approved the request by the Human Resources Department for a budget increase in the amount of $4,000. y)9��G The Commissioners received a Summons from Jose Rigoberto Baeze, et al. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling. 1��Iel The Commissioners received a Claim for Damages from Richard M. Yzaguirre. The matter was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for handling. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until July 17, 2001 July 17, 2001 The Session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioner Snead and Commissioner Moore in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding 10:30 a.m. Bid Opening-7-NW/B-NW Project, Local Agency Agreement -Q - NE Road (PE), CAMS, and DOT Projects. 14,z z The Commissioners held a Bid Opening on 7 -NW & B -NW Roads. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead to refer the bids to Public Works for their review and recommendation. The motion carried. The Commissioners held a Public Hearing in the matter of modifying certain sections of Chapter 11.04 of the Grant County Code entitled "Maximum Speed Limits". There was no public in attendance. There was discussion regarding changing the speed limit on Potato Hill Road to 45 mph. It was also noted that Rebecca Court should be scratched from the list, and P South West should be corrected to T South West. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead to adopt Ordinance Number 2001 -115 -CC amending Sections 11.04.025, 11.04.035, 11.04.050 of the Grant County Code. The motion carried. jzl,)-10q Commissioner Moore signed the Local Agency Agreement with DOT regarding Larson Community Sidewalks. The Commissioners signed the Request for Transfer of Funds by the Human Resources Department from Professional Services, to Office and Operating Supplies. The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Historical Museum for funds to cover the purchase of fire extinguishers for the Museum buildings. The Commissioners received the Notice of Separation for Juan J. Rodriguez, Jr. who resigned effective July 13, 2001. <% y The Commissioners signed the letter of agreement between Grant County Fair and Tim Johnson (J&R Consulting). y 11 The Commissioners upheld the recommendation of the Public Works Director and awarded the bid on 7 -NW & B -NW Roads to Tommer Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $243,038. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2001 -116 -CC designating the Grant County Auditor and Deputy Auditors as Grant County's agent to accept claims for damages, pursuant to Chapter 4.96 RCW. and other matters properly relating thereto be passed. The motion carried. zf / The Commissioners signed the Contract between the County and Tommer Construction Co., Inc. on the Bridge #80, 7 -NW project. "�J%� The Commissioners approved the request that Frank Martinez, Jr. of the Grant County Information Services Department be considered a Union Exempt employee. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was adjourned until July 23, 2001.
