HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommissioners Proceedings - Commissioners - 20 (051)V COMMISSIONERS' PROCEEDINGS Week of April 15, 2002 The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. The Commissioners read and approved the minutes of the preceding session as written. I�Z543,E The Commissioners notified the Sheriff that they had approved the creation of a Patrol Corporal and a Corrections Corporal. The Commissioners notified Mike Shay, Bob Mosher, Bill Varney, Darryl Pheasant and Susan Bauer of the plan to set up a Financial Planning Team to work on budget issues throughout the year, and asked them to serve on this team. As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 4/15/02 in the total amount of $916,909.53. /�W/The Commissioners received Sandi Edwards resignation from the Grant County Planning Commission. /0,f�'-The Commissioners approved the request by Allen Holman, Grant County Fairgrounds for a budget transfer request in the amount of $18,218.20 for Hydro -Evaporative Coolers for the Commercial Building on the Fairgrounds. /43 4�3 Chairman Snead was authorized to sign the Big Bend Community College Contract to provide instructional services for Grant County. /151�A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Snead that Resolution Number 2002 -62 -CC setting a Public Hearing for April 30, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. relating to the facts requiring an appropriation and expenditure of funds for the Emergency Services Fund 9102, Department #144 in the amount of $575.00 be passed. The motion carried. /y3��Chairman Snead was authorized to sign approval of the Special Occasion Liquor License for the Soroptimist International of Moses Lake. /y�J-��kThe Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding the Sentinel Gap Water System upgrade Community Development Block Grant application. A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore to send this application on to the State Department of Community Development with Grant County approval. The motion carried. As there was no further business to come before the Board the session was continued until April 16, 2002. April 16, 2002 The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board. %Y ///fhe Commissioners upheld the recommendation of the Grant County Democratic Party and appointed Undersheriff Michael D. Shay to fill the position of Grant County Sheriff effective June 1, 2002 at 12:01 a.m. due to the retirement of Sheriff Bill Wiester. The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding authorization to call for bids -6.5/M,5/6 -SW Roads (Adams Rd. to O -SW Rd.), Authorization to Call for Bids -Q -NE Rd.(Bridge 245 to 3 -NE), Reimbursable Work -Grant County Port District No. 9 of Ephrata, Reimbursable Work -Town of Electric City, Execution of Contracts -Crack Sealing Services 2002/Ray Poland & Sons,Inc., Execution of Contrafts- Ephrata Landfill Irrigation System/Skone Irrigation, Royal City Shop - Approximate Start Date April 22"d, Article on Endangering the Beltway, Treasurer's Letter -Zola, Personnel -Landfill. 11411';y'fg The Commissioners signed a contract with Skone Irrigation and Supply, LLC for the Ephrata Landfill Irrigation System, Contract #2002-08. The Commissioners signed a contract with Ray Poland & Sons, Inc. for Crack Sealing Services in 2002. A',v: o The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on Q - NE Rd. (Bridge 245 to 3 -NE). The bid opening date to be May 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. IY'V,)/The Commissioners signed the Authorization to Call for Bids on 6.5/M.5/6 -SW Roads (Adams Rd. to O -SW Rd.) Bid opening date to be April 30, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. The Commissioners signed approval of the Engineer's recommendation for approval of the request to the County Road Department for Reimbursable Work by the Town of Electric City for the purchase of 100 CU. I�3�a�3 The Commissioners signed approval of the Engineer's recommendation for approval of the request to the County Road Department for Reimbursable Work by the Port of Ephrata for 3`d shot of BST on Gruman, 5`h Ave., Airport Ext., Yak St., Enterprise and Enterprise Ext. and Striping on Gruman and 5"' Ave. �� 4'�l The Commissioners signed a Proclamation calling citizens to welcome, assist and host the members of the Family Motor Coach Association during Family Motor Coach Week. /4/3Y5:r A motion was made by Commissioner Allison, seconded by Commissioner Moore that Resolution Number 2002 -63 -CC adopting the WA -CERT recommended priority listing be passed. The motion carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Allison that Ordinance Number 2002 -64 -CC in the matter of closing a certain road be passed. The motion carried.
