GRANTING CLOSURE OF
VIEWMONT DR OF DUNE LAKES
FINAL PUD PLAT AFN 10851339
SECTION 03 T18NR28E.W.M, GRANT
COUNTY
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.87 inclusive, the Grant County Board of Commissioners has
reviewed a petition to vacate certain County Maintained roads and rights -of -ways known as
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: VIEWMONT DR OF DUNE LAKES FINAL PUD PLAT, AFN
1085133, Roadlog 21603 bmp .556 emp .620 IN SECTION 03 OF TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH,
RANGE 28 EWM, ALL IN GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON AND AS SHOWN ON
Attached Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners heard testimony over several months,
including the report of the County Engineer, statement from the Fire Marshal, and public comment from
citizens, and did deny said petition to vacate via Resolution 26-065-CC; and
WHEREAS, the road known as Viewmont Dr. as shown on the Dune Lakes Final PUD Plat
AFN 1085133 is useful to the public as a county road, emergency service corridor, and pedestrian use;
and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 06-139-CC, ORDER GRANTING CLOSURE, this portion of
County Road was closed and a gate installed, and the County reserved the right to re -open this road as
deemed necessary by the County Road Engineer; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the County Engineer that it will be to the benefit of the
County and the public to reopen this road and remove the gate for public use; and,
WHEREAS, the Notice of Public Hearing Resolution 26-074-CC was published in the County
official newspaper at least once a week for 2 consecutive weeks preceding the fixed date for the hearing,
with no objections to the process, and said Hearing was held on September 29, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the Grant County Board of
Commissioners RESCIND Resolution 06-139-CC, ORDER GRANTING CLOSURE, and order
the REOPENING of Viewmont Drive to through traffic as shown on attached Exhibit A.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the installed gate be removed by the Dune Lakes
Homeowners Association (HOA) within THIRTY (30) days, or be removed by County forces at
the expense of the HOA.
