The recent wildfire known as the Railroad Fire in Beverly, WA resulted in the loss of five homes
and several accessory buildings.
These structures will require building permits for reconstruction and demolition permits for the
destroyed remains. As per the adopted permit fee schedule, the fees for demolition permit
$106.50.
In an effort to alleviate some of the burden on these homeowners, and create some good will,
am requesting the Board of County Commissioners waive the demolition fee for all structures
involved in this unfortunate incident. Most of these owners have lost everything they own, and
this could be a small gesture by Grant County to say we don't want to add to their grief.
When our permit fee schedule in next updated, this idea of a no -charge demolition permit for
disasters will be included for your approval as a permanent provision.
