RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION No. 26- 051- -CC
EXECUTION OF
INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN
WASHINGTON STATE PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION AND
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, Chapter 34.39 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
government entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate
with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and
facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best
with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development
of local communities; and
WHEREAS, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is authorized pursuant
to Chapter 3 9.3 4 RCW to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements; and
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, by and through Grant County Sheriff s Office,
is vested with authority to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement pursuant to Chapter 3 9.3 4
RCW; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Intergovernmental Agreement is to establish a
cooperative framework between the agencies to enhance the performance of boating safety and
education services in the state per RCW 88.02.650, WAC 3 52-65-040(1) and WAC 3 52-65.010.;
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and
Grant County Sheriff s Office to enter into this Intergovernmental Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the attached
Intergovernmental Agreement between Grant County, by and through Grant County Sheriff's
Office and Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission be approved.
