Extension Request —SIP Funding 2024-02 (Award Letter Resolution, August 20.. 2025) Dear Commissioners,, The Port of Warden respectfully requests a one-year extension through August 20., 2027 of the $100,000 SIP Funding award (2024-02) supporting Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Truck Access & Bypass Road Project. Over the past year, the Port has continued close coordination with WSDOT and federal partners to meet the requirements associated with the FY 2023 St 2024 Federal Community Project Funding for the Port o * f Warden Road Infrastructure Improvement & Expansion Project, As part pf this process, the City of Warden has formally agreed to close the Evan Hall Street rail crossing. In Turn., BNSF Railway has Issued written approval authorizing construction of anew public crossing at a location south of State Highway 17% providing the Port with the necessary access point for the Truck/Bypass Road Project, This coordinated closure and relocation of rail access is a major milestone, but it also requires additional environmental review, design refinement, and interagency documentation. To ensure full compliance and maintain project quality, the Port needs additional time to complete these steps before drawing down the SIP award,, We appreciate your continued support and partnership. Granting this extension will allow the Port to finalize the required deliverables and maintain momentum toward improved freight mobility, public safety, and regional economic growth.
