Shannon Falstad will be appointed effective July 1, 2026. Shannon has been serving as an Accounting Deputy with the Grant County Clerk's Office since 2016; her current duties include management of departmental tills and deposits, reconciling bank accounts, supervising cashiers, processing payroll, and maintaining rigorous adherence to financial protocols. Before that, she was the Recording/Licensing Lead Deputy at the Grant County Auditor's Office from 1996 to 2016, where she oversaw licensing and recording operations, processed daily deposits, maintained check registers, and ensured compliance with both county and state contractual requirements. Shannon plans to bring her skills in leadership, financial management, and public service to the role of Grant County Auditor. The Auditor Applicant Interview, which took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., as well as the announcement of the selection, were recorded and will be posted to the BOCC's official YouTube page entitled Grant County, WA: BOCC.
